It wasn’t the busiest of weeks on the Loan Army front, but there’s still enough to catch up on from the past seven days, including one certain goal for Mason Mount, one emphatic one from Danilo Pantic, and one that Fikayo Tomori is claiming even if the powers that be have ultimately disagreed.
Headliners
Mount’s goal – his eight of the season and the 86th overall by Chelsea’s loanees – came in a losing cause as Vitesse lost 4-3 to AZ Alkmaar in midweek. The talented midfielder also laid on an assist for Tim Matavz in a wide-open game that AZ eventually won 4-3.
Mount and Matt Miazga played the entire duration of the match, whilst Fankaty Dabo was once again an unused substitute, and Vitesse are still clinging onto a Europa League playoff spot with two games to go.
Pantic, meanwhile, scored a belting solo strike as Partizan lost 4-2 to Cukaricki in the Serbian Cup Semi Final in midweek, before playing 90 minutes in a league win over the same team on Sunday.

Back in England on Saturday, Tomori was claiming what he thought was his first professional goal in Hull’s wild 5-5 draw at Bristol City, but it would eventually go down as a Frank Fielding own goal after the defender’s header came back off the woodwork and went in via the goalkeeper.

Tomori had replaced fellow loanee Ola Aina just before half time, with Hull 2-1 down, whilst Michael Hector was an unused substitute.
England
Premier League
Ruben Loftus-Cheek completed ninety minutes as Crystal Palace drew 0-0 at Watford to move a step closer to Premier League survival, whilst Kurt Zouma played half an hour from the bench as Stoke drew 1-1 with Burnley to leave them very much still likely to suffer relegation.
Tammy Abraham played the final fifteen minutes of Swansea’s 5-0 defeat to Man City whilst Kenedy and Newcastle travel to Everton on Monday night.
Championship
Tomas Kalas came off the bench to claim a cracking assist as Fulham won 3-0 at Millwall to keep their automatic promotion charge alive. He replaced Lucas Piazon after 83 minutes and wasted little time in marauding forwards to give Alexander Mitrovic the chance to score the third, which he did emphatically, and the Cottagers are just a point behind Cardiff in second, although they have played a game more.
Jake Clarke-Salter and Sunderland were relegated after a 2-1 home defeat to Burton in which the young defender didn’t do himself a great deal of justice. Brought on in the 81st minute, he was slightly slow to react to Darren Bent’s equaliser before allowing Liam Boyce to climb above him to net the winner, and has duly come in for heavy criticism from angry Sunderland fans.
Jeremie Boga was an unused substitute in Birmingham’s 2-1 win over Jamal Blackman’s Sheffield United, whilst Kasey Palmer was a 63rd-minute substitute in Derby’s 2-1 defeat at home to a Middlesbrough side that once again left Lewis Baker out of the matchday squad.
League One
Jay Dasilva made two substitute appearances for Charlton in huge away wins at Shrewsbury (one minute) and Portsmouth (34 minutes) that should see the Addicks into the playoffs as a result.
Todd Kane played every second as Oxford lost 1-0 at Wigan before winning by the same scoreline at Doncaster, for whom Jordan Houghton played twenty minutes after completing ninety in a midweek 3-3 draw at home to Bury.
Iké Ugbo played 74 minutes as Milton Keynes were beaten 4-0 at Southend to all but confirm their relegation.
League Two
Brad Collins and Forest Green Rovers won 4-1 at home to Chesterfield to move within one point of escaping a relegation that looked a certainty earlier in the season. Collins has played a big part in making that happen, building confidence as the campaign has worn on, and producing some big saves at crucial moments in the last month in particular.
Non-League
Nathan Baxter and Woking headed north to Guiseley this weekend knowing that they could be relegated from the National League and, for a while, that was on the cards for the Cards. Then, a combination of Aldershot equalising against Barrow plus Richard Orlu’s late winner gave them a reprieve, but they still remain in the relegation zone with their fate out of their own hands.
Barrow travel to Bromley in midweek knowing a win almost certainly condemns Woking, who need to hope for a Bromley victory before then having to better their result at home to playoff-chasing Dover next weekend, whilst Barrow host already-relegated Chester.
In the National League South, Chippenham were without Jared Thompson for their penultimate fixture of the season and drew 4-4 at Wealdstone without him. Thompson was instead in Portugal with Brentford’s B team, where he has spent a few trial spells over the past eight months, helping them to a 3-2 win vs FC Porto’s B team.
Netherlands
The KNVB Cup Final this weekend meant Eredivisie action was limited to a midweek schedule, where captain Marco van Ginkel was rested by champions PSV for their 2-2 draw at Roda.
Cristian Cuevas was suspended as FC Twente beat PEC Zwolle 2-0 to stave off relegation for another week.
Belgium
Victorien Angban was booked and completed the full match as Waasland-Beveren drew at Mouscron, before then missing the home defeat to Lierse through suspension.
Germany
Michy Batshuayi’s season came to an end last weekend after he suffered ankle ligament damage playing for Dortmund against Schalke; he’s hoping to be fit for the World Cup.
Baba Rahman is still to make his Schalke debut this second time around.
Spain
Josimar Quintero played no part for Betis Deportivo against Cartagena.
Portugal
Nathan played 71 minutes of Belenenses’ 1-1 draw at Pacos de Ferreira.
Turkey
Kenneth Omeruo couldn’t prevent defeat for Kasimpasa away to Konyaspor, his side going down to a 2-0 loss.
Scotland
Charly Musonda was on the bench as Celtic headed to Hibernian knowing a win would seal another Scottish Premiership title. Musonda didn’t get on and Celtic didn’t get the win, losing 2-1.
Russia
Mario Pašalić and Spartak Moscow host FK Akhmat on Monday evening.

Mitchell Beeney was in goal as Sligo Rovers lost 1-0 at Cork City.
