Football is well and truly back across Europe now, so the Loan Report returns in full to catch up on what’s been happening as the 2019-20 season hurtles towards a hurried conclusion.
Danny Drinkwater didn’t feature for Aston Villa against Sheffield United in midweek, and loan rules prevented him from doing so against Chelsea on Sunday.
Swansea were quick out of the blocks on the Championship’s return, and Conor Gallagher wasted little time in reminding everyone just how good he is. In another impressive performance, he laid claim to an assist after being fouled for a penalty which Andre Ayew scored to help secure a 3-0 win at Middlesbrough. Marc Guehi was an unused sub.
Jake Clarke-Salter was also in good form as Birmingham returned with a goalless draw away to league leaders West Brom. The centre-back played his part in a resolute performance against the joint-leading league scorers heading into the weekend.
Izzy Brown played 75 minutes for Luton in a 1-1 draw against Preston that keeps their once-unlikely survival hopes alive a while longer.
Trevoh Chalobah was an unused substitute for Huddersfield against a Wigan team missing an injured Dujon Sterling, while Matt Miazga also missed out through injury as Reading returned to action with a win over Stoke.
Mario Pašalić picked up right where he left off for Atalanta, playing a big part in the third goal of their 4-1 win against Sassuolo. A booking ruled him out of their big match next up against Lazio, and he’ll be leaving on a permanent deal to Italy this summer, but he’s back doing what he does best.
Victor Moses played last quarter of an hour for Inter at home to Sampdoria.
Davide Zappacosta’s Roma had no match this weekend as the return of Serie A meant the completion of previously rearranged fixtures.
Kenedy added 36 more minutes from the bench this week as Getafe played out a pair of home draws against Espanyol and Eibar, potentially losing ground in the race for European qualification.
Baba Rahman remains injured at Mallorca.
Ethan Ampadu is still injured, but was given a send-off by RB Leipzig in his final home match with the club.
Lucas Piazon played ninety minutes as Rio Ave lost 2-1 at home to Benfica in midweek.

Several league campaigns were curtailed earlier than expected due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. Numbers for those players are assumed to be as of the formal end of that respective season; whether the stats officially count or not, we will take them as having happened.
