Following last week’s goal glut, there’s just one to mention in this week’s Loan Report, but it comes from the one player you can be absolutely assured of being in Chelsea blue next season.
Headliners
For the time being, however, Christian Pulisic remains a Dortmund player. Having spent the last fortnight on the treatment table with a hamstring problem, he was back on the bench for Saturday’s seemingly routine home clash with Stuttgart, but BVB found themselves toiling at 1-1 with a quarter of an hour to go. Enter Pulisic.

A goal and an assist kept them level on points with Bayern Munich at the top of the Bundesliga and, in a week where they were knocked out of the Champions League, perhaps kept their season alive.
England
Premier League
Kurt Zouma’s Everton suffered an ignominious defeat at Newcastle, having led 2-0 before losing the points in the last ten minutes. The French defender was found ball-watching for at least two of the three goals in what wasn’t one of his better displays. Kenedy came off the bench for the hosts to little overall effect.
Michy Batshuayi was largely kept quiet in Crystal Palace’s 2-1 defeat by Brighton.
Championship
It was a big week for Reece James, who faced off against fellow Chelsea loanees twice in four days, both away from home. He was outstanding in midfield on both occasions, despite the Latics losing to Derby and Reading, and continues to earn plaudits at every turn.

Dominant midfield display from Reece James for #WAFC. Pace, power. Looks a talent. #ReadingFC

Fikayo Tomori and Derby emerged with the three points on Tuesday, before Lewis Baker and Matt Miazga did the same courtesy of a 97th-minute winner on Saturday. Tomori, who also impressed in a 1-1 draw against Michael Hector’s Sheffield Wednesday this week, has played more minutes than any other Chelsea Loan Army member this season, and has passed the 40-appearance mark in doing so.
Baker has found a renewed lease of life at upwardly-mobile Reading, who have lost just once in the six matches he and former academy team-mate John Swift have started together in midfield. Miazga had perhaps his poorest appearance for the Royals so far, but he too has done well, after the unfortunate demise of his stay at Nantes.
Bristol City’s form has taken a turn for the worse; a nine-game winning run has now given way to five without a win in the league, seeing them drop out of the playoff places as a result. Tomas Kalas and Jay Dasilva played ninety minutes in the 1-0 defeat to Leeds, with Kasey Palmer getting ten minutes from the bench as he now competes for playing time with Antoine Semenyo, who could himself have joined Chelsea in January. Izzy Brown was an unused substitute for Leeds.
Todd Kane and Hull lost 3-0 to Nottingham Forest, while Trevoh Chalobah missed Ipswich’s draw at West Brom through injury, but did find time to speak to the official Chelsea website this week about his campaign to date.

Tammy Abraham and Aston Villa beat rivals Birmingham 1-0 on Sunday in a match that made global headlines for the moment a home fan attacked Abraham’s Villa team-mate Jack Grealish.

League One
Brad Collins, this week nominated for the League One Player of the Month award, took on Dujon Sterling’s Coventry City on Friday night. Burton won 2-1.
League Two
Josh Grant returned from injury after spending the best part of a month out, but couldn’t help Yeovil to three points at Lincoln, as he and Nathan Baxter suffered a 1-0 defeat at Sincil Bank.

Jacob Maddox played twenty minutes spread across two substitute appearances for Cheltenham against Bury and Notts County.
Non-League
There was a win and a clean sheet for Jack Wakely as Basingstoke beat Swindon Supermarine 2-0 on Saturday.
Italy
Ola Aina was back in the Torino team after missing last weekend’s match through injury, coming off the bench to provide the match-winning assist, as an Andrea Belotti double led I Granata to a 2-1 win at Frosinone.
Tiémoué Bakayoko and Lucas Piazon were unused substitutes as Milan beat Chievo 2-1 in Verona.
Mario Pašalić played the last quarter of an hour as Atalanta won 2-1 at Sampdoria.
Spain
Alvaro Morata was an unused substitute as Atlético Madrid rested him for their forthcoming Champions League tie, beating Kenneth Omeruo’s Leganés 1-0 at the Wanda Metropolitano.
Josi Quintero played the last twenty minutes as Lleida lost at home to Olot.
Netherlands
With Jake Clarke-Salter back at Cobham for treatment on a knee injury expected to keep him out for a couple of weeks, and with Charly Musonda having reportedly experienced a setback in his attempts to return from a long-term issue, Eduardo was the only loanee to play for Vitesse against Feyenoord on Sunday. The 1-1 draw kept the gap between the two teams at seven points, as Leonid Slutskiy’s charges failed to grab the chance to push for Champions League football.
Fankaty Dabo and Sparta Rotterdam drew 0-0 away to FC Eindhoven.
France
Baba Rahman was restored to the Reims team for the trip to Dijon, getting ninety minutes in a 1-1 draw. Victorien Angban, again, must wait until Monday night for Metz to play as they host struggling Sochaux in Ligue 2.
Belgium
Kylian Hazard, who was injured last time out, was absent for Cercle Brugge this weekend.
Turkey
Victor Moses played all ninety minutes as Fenerbahce lost 2-1 to league leaders Istanbul BB on Saturday. The match was something of a time-warp for viewers of top-level European football over the past decade, for it featured Emre Belozoglu, Arda Turan, Robinho, Emmanuel Adebayor, Mauricio Isla, Martin Skrtel, Roberto Soldado and Mathieu Valbuena.
Serbia
Back from injury, Danilo Pantic played the second half of Partizan’s midweek defeat at home to Radnicki Nis, and just over half an hour on Sunday in another single-goal reverse against Vozdovac.
Northern Ireland
Warrenpoint’s home fixture against Crusaders was postponed, meaning no action for Jared Thompson.
Brazil
Nathan played the second half of Atlético-MG’s Mineiro State Championship win at CA Patrocinense.
