We’ve got four more goals to catch up on from the last week in this edition of the Loan Report, and all four were scored by young centre-forwards, both at home and abroad. We begin with Tammy Abraham.
Headliners
The 20 year-old has experienced the highs and lows of top-flight football during his stay at Swansea City, starting the campaign in good form that earned him a maiden England cap, before then suffering through a three-month stretch without scoring whilst also nursing a nagging injury. All of that came to an end in midweek when Swansea hammered Notts County 8-1 in an FA Cup replay as he scored twice and assisted two more to play himself right back into form.
He was back on the bench for the league fixture at home to Burnley on Saturday, but came off the bench with fifteen minutes remaining to positive effect, proving to be a nuisance and helping break down the opposition defence for Ki Sung-Yueng’s late winner.
Abraham’s successor at both Under-18 and Under-23 level was Iké Ugbo, and whilst he himself hasn’t had quite the same success in professional football so far, he too is learning. After enduring a frustrating spell at Barnsley in the first half of this season, he’s now with Milton Keynes, and was able to celebrate his first goal for the club this weekend by opening the scoring in their 2-1 defeat at the hands of Portsmouth.
Both Ugbo and Abraham are chasing Michy Batshuayi for a place in the first team squad at Stamford Bridge, and the Belgian holds all the aces right now, scoring his third goal in two appearances for Borussia Dortmund with the opener in their 2-0 win over Hamburg.

Premier League
Kurt Zouma and Stoke shared a 1-1 draw with Brighton that didn’t do the Potters’ hopes of avoiding relegation much good at all; the Frenchman was caught rather square for Jose Izquierdo’s opening goal.
Kenedy played 84 minutes for Newcastle against Manchester United and helped them to a 1-0 win.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek remains back at Chelsea rehabbing an ankle injury that Crystal Palace manager Roy Hodgson allegedly fears could be a season-ender.

Championship
Ola Aina and Michael Hector were involved from start to finish as Hull City recorded a much-needed win, along with a clean sheet, away to Nottingham Forest. Fikayo Tomori was an unused substitute.
Jamal Blackman was back in goal for Sheffield United, accelerating his return from a recent knock to deputise for the suspended Simon Moore, and he was in good form as the Blades beat Leeds 2-1. He made a fantastic first-half save to deny Pontus Jansson, but could arguable have done better for Pierre-Michel Lasogga’s equaliser.
Jeremie Boga played the extra time portion of Birmingham’s FA Cup exit at the hands of Huddersfield Town in midweek before then getting ninety minutes in their defeat to heated rivals Aston Villa on Sunday. He had some lively moments without reward in the first half, generally spending too long on the ball, and disappeared thereafter as Villa dominated proceedings.
Jake Clarke-Salter recovered from a poor first half as Sunderland battled back from 3-0 down to draw 3-3 at Bristol City, whilst Tomas Kalas (90 minutes) and Lucas Piazon (51 minutes) both started Fulham’s 1-1 draw at Bolton.
Kasey Palmer played just under twenty minutes as Derby were held to a 1-1 draw by Norwich City, whilst Lewis Baker was once again absent entirely for Middlesbrough.
League One
Jordan Houghton and Jay Dasilva went head-to-head as Doncaster Rovers hosted Charlton Athletic, and the spoils were shared all round, as the two teams couldn’t be separated in their 1-1 draw.
Todd Kane played the full ninety minutes as Oxford United were beaten 2-1 at home by Bristol Rovers.
League Two
Brad Collins and Forest Green Rovers saw their weekend trip to Newport County postponed due to a waterlogged pitch at Rodney Parade.
Non-League
Nathan Baxter kept a clean sheet as Woking beat Chester 1-0 and earned plenty of praise for another positive performance.
Jared Thompson matched those feats as Chippenham Town staved off Bognor Regis Town 1-0 to edge further away from the relegation zone.
Netherlands
In losing 1-0 to ADO Den Haag before beating Feyenoord 3-1 this week, Vitesse neatly summed up life under beleaguered manager Henk Fraser. They were extremely poor in the former fixture on Thursday, lacking any sort of creativity, but turned in their best outing of the season to best the champions on Sunday, winning in every department despite the two red cards issued to Feyenoord players.
Fankaty Dabo, Matt Miazga and Mason Mount played every second of both matches, and were all in good form on Sunday. Dabo enjoyed his battles against Steven Berghuis and Tyrell Malacia, and ultimately won them, whilst Miazga hit the crossbar and was denied another goal by a superb save from Brad James. Mount provided the assist for Guram Kashia’s goal, and continued his impressive form with a mature and composed display, running the midfield alongside Thulani Serero and getting forward to good effect.

Marco van Ginkel missed PSV’s wins over Excelsior and Sparta through injury, whilst Cristian Cuevas was sent off in Twente’s defeat to AZ Alkmaar and therefore missed the trip to Ajax through suspension.
Germany
Baba Rahman still isn’t quite fit enough to begin his latest loan at Schalke and therefore wasn’t involved against Bayern Munich this weekend.
Belgium
Victorien Angban collected his customary yellow card as Waasland-Beveren drew 1-1 with Club Brugge. The Ivorian has collected 17 yellow cards and 3 reds in 54 career league appearances.
Spain
Josimar Quintero remains injured and unable to debut for Betis Deportivo.
Portugal
Nathan played 58 minutes in his first start for Belenenses away to Vitória Setúbal last Monday, and was back on the bench as they hosted Aves on Sunday, and remained an unused substitute throughout.
Scotland
Charly Musonda had a quiet 65 minutes for Celtic in their 3-2 Scottish Cup win at home to Partick Thistle.
Turkey
Kenneth Omeruo played from start to finish in Kasimpasa’s 1-1 draw away to Yeni Malatyaspor.
Mexico
Joao Rodriguez was booked as Tampico Madero lost to Dorados, continuing their stuttering Clausura form, a contrast to the way they finished the Apertura campaign before Christmas.
