After a recent dry spell, the Loan Report has goals to report on again this week, as Iké Ugbo extended his lead atop the Chelsea loanee goalscoring ranks.
Headliners
The 21 year-old opted to stay with Roda during the January transfer window, despite having plenty of options elsewhere, and scored his 12th goal of a largely positive stay in Kerkrade against Den Bosch on Friday night. The problem was, it came in a 5-1 defeat, a result that leaves the former proud club just three points off the foot of the second division table. There is no formal relegation to the amateur class from this division, but all is not well at Roda.
36. 1-3! Hoe de bal er precies in gaat, is een mirakel. Den Bosch speelt de bal terug op de eigen doelman, maar die heeft geen balcontrole. Iké Ugbo is alert en schiet de bal erin.#RODDBO 1-3

England
Premier League
Aston Villa and Danny Drinkwater spent the week on their designated winter break.
Championship
Jake Clarke-Salter goes from strength to strength at Birmingham, playing his part in a 3-1 win away to Bristol City on Friday night that kept the Blues moving up the table. After recovering well from an injury over Christmas, he’s an increasingly integral player for the Blues.

Marc Guehi and Conor Gallagher were on the losing side as Swansea lost to Derby by the odd goal in five to continue their recent shaky spell of form, while Izzy Brown played well to no avail as bottom-of-the-table Luton lost 1-0 at home to Cardiff City.
Trevoh Chalobah was on the bench as Huddersfield beat QPR 2-0, a move that wasn’t entirely unexpected after some mixed recent performances. Both Matt Miazga (Reading) and Dujon Sterling (Wigan Athletic) are still injured.
League One
Jamal Blackman was beaten three times for Bristol Rovers away to one of his former loan clubs, Wycombe Wanderers, while Richard Nartey played the last five minutes of Burton Albion’s goalless stalemate at home to Gillingham.
League Two
Josh Grant and Plymouth lost 3-0 away to Colchester United to fall out of the automatic promotion places. Having played so well in midfield over the past two months, he was forced to deputise in defence due to Gary Sawyer’s suspension, and it was a long afternoon for Argyle.
Italy
Victor Moses came off the bench with ten minutes left in the Milan derby but still found time to lay on an assist for Romelu Lukaku to cap a stunning comeback. Trailing 2-0 at half time, Inter turned things around in the second half, eventually running out 4-2 winners.
Mario Pašalić, celebrating his 25th birthday today (Sunday), played just over an hour for Atalanta in a 2-1 win away to Fiorentina.

Davide Zappacosta is still injured.
Spain
Kenedy, himself celebrating his 24th birthday this week, got an hour as upwardly-mobile Getafe thumped Valencia 3-0 on Saturday to move into third place in La Liga.
Baba Rahman seems unlikely to feature for Mallorca again as he continues his personal battle with injuries.
Germany
Ethan Ampadu was an unused substitute as Leipzig drew at Bayern Munich.
France
Tiémoué Bakayoko sat out Monaco’s wins over Angers and Amiens through suspension after a red card at Nimes last weekend. He’s eligible to return next time out against Montpellier.
Netherlands
Juan Castillo and Jong Ajax thumped Go Ahead Eagles 5-1 last Monday night to continue their general dominance over the Dutch second tier; they’re away to Jong Utrecht this Monday night aiming to move back to within a point of leaders Cambuur, who handed George McEachran a senior debut for the last ten minutes of their 2-1 win over MVV on Friday.
Belgium
Charlie Brown also made his senior debut this weekend, playing half an hour for Union SG in a goalless draw away to Excelsior Virton.
Portugal
Lucas Piazon played 71 minutes for Rio Ave in a good 4-0 win at Aves.
Scotland
Nathan Baxter’s third clean sheet in twelve appearances for Ross County came in their 2-0 win over Livingston in midweek, a much-needed result after a trio of recent defeats.
Brazil
Nathan returned to the Atlético-MG squad this week after two months out injured, but was an unused sub in their Copa Sudamericana defeat to Unión de Santa Fe. He repeated the feat Sunday vs URT in the Campeonato Mineiro.

Covid-19
Several league campaigns were curtailed earlier than expected due to the global Covid-19 pandemic. Numbers for those players are assumed to be as of the formal end of that respective season; whether the stats officially count or not, we will take them as having happened.
