The international break usually means a break from the Loan Report but, with more a dozen young Blues still around and not getting any time off, we’re still going to check in on the latest news and views.
Headliners
The best performer over the past seven days has to be Yeovil’s Nathan Baxter, who recorded a fifth straight clean sheet in the Glovers’ midweek Checkatrade Trophy clash with Exeter City. They were eventually defeated on penalties, but Baxter has already established himself as a firm fan favourite at Huish Park this season, as a glance at the #BaxterStaysHydrated Twitter hashtag will confirm.
His fellow League Two loanee Jacob Maddox, meanwhile, continues to catch the eye and was impressive in Saturday’s 3-1 win at Northampton, just the Robins’ second victory of the campaign. He won the penalty for their second goal.
Jacob Maddox is the boy. Looks a player.

England
Elsewhere in England, Brad Collins suffered an injury in Burton’s 2-2 draw with Accrington; his thigh strain forcing him off at half time, and he will now be assessed by Chelsea’s medical team.
Iké Ugbo completed ninety minutes as Scunthorpe shared a 3-3 draw with Rochdale, an encouraging sign this early in his time at Glanford Park, and particularly after missing their Checkatrade Trophy fixture midweek; cup-tied having already played for Chelsea in the same competition.
Charlie Colkett was back in the Shrewsbury Town matchday 18 for the trip to Portsmouth but remained on the bench throughout.
Dujon Sterling made his comeback from a recent back problem on Sunday, playing 45 minutes away to Oxford, having withdrawn from England duty in order to play.
Lewis Baker and Jamal Blackman turned out for Leeds United’s Under-23s in a 5-1 win over Bristol City on Friday as several of Marcelo Bielsa’s senior squad got some much-needed playing time.
Netherlands
Kyle Scott played 66 minutes as Telstar won comprehensively 4-1 away to Dordrecht, but Fankaty Dabo was an unused substitute in Sparta Rotterdam’s 2-0 win against FC Eindhoven.
Spain
Joao Rodriguez was substituted after just 42 minutes of Tenerife’s defeat at Málaga on Saturday, suffering another injury having only recently recovered from a hamstring problem. It remains to be seen how long he’ll be sidelined for now.
