A pair of forwards with aspirations of earning a Chelsea future scored this week, as did a striker and a midfielder who may both already have one foot out of the door, and one other player who is almost certainly not coming back. It’s time for the Loan Report.
Headliners
Michy Batshuayi has generally scored goals wherever he’s been. That trend has continued at Crystal Palace, where he now has two in three starts; Manchester United kept him quiet in midweek, but Burnley could do little to prevent this terrific finish that set the Eagles well on their way to an impressive away win.

Tammy Abraham, meanwhile, has essentially completed the Championship on a personal level. He had arguably done that at Bristol City two years ago, but a move to Aston Villa this term gave him the chance to reinforce that, and his 21st goal of the season against Derby on Saturday ended a three-match run without scoring to bring him back to the fore again.
Derby’s makeshift side missing several key players, including Mason Mount, were heavily beaten despite the best efforts of Fikayo Tomori.
Alvaro Morata is firmly up and running in Madrid with Atlético, scoring both of their goals in a 2-0 win at Real Sociedad.

In Italy, Atalanta played Fiorentina twice in a matter of days, first in the Coppa Italia, then in Serie A. Mario Pašalić scored in the former of those fixtures and it was a goal that bore all the hallmarks of the Croatian’s game; expansive midfield play to launch an attack before getting into the penalty area with a late run to provide a finish.
He got a quarter of an hour on Sunday but also indicated this week that, like so many others before him, he has grown tired of the nomadic lifestyle a Chelsea loanee lives, and is looking for some security.

Friday’s Turkish SuperLiga action saw Fenerbache beat Rizespor 3-2 courtesy of Victor Moses’ late winning penalty.

England
Premier League
Kurt Zouma missed out for Everton away to Cardiff in midweek but returned for Sunday’s Merseyside derby against Liverpool, and played a big part in earning a goalless draw that kept Man City top of the table.
Kenedy remains out of favour at Newcastle and wasn’t in either of their matchday squads this week.
Championship
Having seen their nine-match winning run come to an end last week, Bristol City have endured a much tougher time since, picking up just a point from fixtures against Birmingham and Preston over the past seven days. Tomas Kalas, established in the heart of the defence, played every second, Jay Dasilva was on the pitch for all of the former and half an hour of the latter, while Kasey Palmer continues to play a cameo role. He got 45 minutes on Tuesday and, despite being unused from the bench on Saturday, continues to be linked with a permanent move to Ashton Gate.
It was a better week for Todd Kane, who claimed an assist as Hull beat Millwall 2-1 and helped the Tigers to a clean sheet and three more points against Birmingham four days later.
Reece James squared off against John Obi Mikel as Wigan drew 0-0 with Middlesbrough, and there were positive performances from Trevoh Chalobah, Lewis Baker and Matt Miazga as Reading claimed a 2-1 win at Ipswich Town. Baker, for the first time since finishing up at Vitesse, is getting a concerted run in the team, and is beginning to recapture some of his confidence.
Izzy Brown made his Leeds debut as a late substitute in defeat at QPR but didn’t get any more minutes in the win over West Brom, and Michael Hector was in the middle of another clean sheet performance for Sheffield Wednesday against Brentford; their next match is the Steel City derby against rivals United on Monday night.
League One
Dujon Sterling and Coventry City won 1-0 at Accrington to continue their push towards the playoffs while Brad Collins’ ninth clean sheet of the season came in Burton’s 0-0 draw with Walsall. He made a fine save late in the game.
League Two
Nathan Baxter and Yeovil clinched a dramatic last-gasp 3-2 win at home to Morecambe to move six points clear of relegation with eleven matches to play. Josh Grant missed out again but, having returned from his injury treatment programme at Chelsea, will be back in contention for their next outing.
Jacob Maddox played 81 minutes as Cheltenham lost 4-2 at Mansfield.
Non-League
Jack Wakely played as Basingstoke lost 1-0 to Hendon.
Spain
Kenneth Omeruo and Leganés are in Monday night action at home to Levante; the Nigerian defender came in for plenty of praise this week from Loan Manager Eddie Newton.

Josi Quintero played the first half as Lleida hosted Badalona.
Italy
Tiémoué Bakayoko was booked and lasted just less than an hour as Milan beat Sassuolo, but Ola Aina was forced out of Torino’s win against Chievo through injury. Lucas Piazon was an unused substitute.
Netherlands
Vitesse beat bottom-placed NAC Breda 4-1 to stay fifth in the Eredivisie; Eduardo played the whole match in goal but Jake Clarke-Salter was forced off injured at half time with what he described as a ‘minor’ problem.
Fankaty Dabo’s third consecutive full outing came as Sparta Rotterdam beat RKC Waalwijk to go second in the Eerste Divisie standings.
Germany
Christian Pulisic is still out with a hamstring problem.
France
Baba Rahman was an unused substitute in Reims’ 2-2 draw against Amiens, while there’s Monday football on tap for Victorien Angban and Metz away to Le Havre.
Belgium
Kylian Hazard lasted just 22 minutes of Cercle Brugge’s defeat at Kortrijk before being withdrawn through injury.
Serbia
Danilo Pantic’s recent foot injury kept him out of the Eternal derby as Partizan drew 1-1 at Red Star Belgrade.
Northern Ireland
Jared Thompson missed Warrenpoint’s midweek defeat to Glentoran through a back strain, but he returned on Saturday to help his team past Larne Tech and into the Semi Finals of the Irish Cup, where they’ll play Ballinamallard.
Brazil
Nathan was not in the 22-man Atlético-MG squad that drew 0-0 with Defensor Sporting in the Copa Libertadores on Thursday.
