This Saturday (6th March), Chelsea’s Under-18s welcome Tottenham Hotspur to Cobham for an Under-18 Premier League match you can watch live and exclusive across Chelsea platforms.
It’s been some three years since Chelsea last broadcast a league match for this age group and, while they have continued to lead the way in live FA Youth Cup football, it’s a welcome return to a format they showed for much of the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons, when Jody Morris’ teams won all seven trophies available to them, and launched the careers of Mason Mount, Reece James, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Billy Gilmour and Tino Anjorin among several others.
This season’s vintage have found the going somewhat tougher, sitting 6th in the South league table after 14 of their 24 games, nine points off league leaders Fulham but with two games in hand. They also have two in hand on Tottenham themselves and can close the gap to just a single point on their North London rivals with a return to form this weekend.
You can watch live from 11am UK time on Saturday and the match will be shown live on ChelseaFC.com, The 5th Stand app, and Chelsea’s YouTube channel. Discussions are ongoing about broadcasting future matches for this age group and, as that’ll be partly contingent on viewing figures, the more people that tune in and lend Ed Brand’s boys their support, the better!
